Meal Preparation

  • Assist with meal planning and grocery shopping
  • Plan and prepare daily and future meals
  • Clean up and put away dishes
  • Monitor grocery and household needs
  • Check food expiration dates, and clean out refrigerator
  • Look through and arrange recipes, clip coupons
  • Monitor diet and nutritional intake

Light Housekeeping

  • Clean counters, cupboards, kitchen appliances, closets
  • Vacuum, sweep floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Laundry
  • Wash and change bed linens and towels
  • Iron and fold clothes
  • Organize and tidy up the house
  • Monitor home safety and maintenance
  • Assist with gardening

Memory Care

  • Assist with routine tasks and decision making
  • Provide respite care and breaks for family
  • Offer reminders and cues through daily activities
  • Observe and report changes in health or appearance of client
  • Correspond with family to provide updates on client’s activities
  • Oversee clothing, grooming and bathing needs
  • Offer reminders to practice routine exercises

Transportation

  • Grocery shopping, appointments, and general errands
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, and review with family
  • Provide transportation to church, community and social events
  • Plan outings to parks, museums, malls, movies, etc.
  • Pick up prescriptions

Companionship

  • Help with hobbies and crafts
  • Read aloud a favorite book, newspaper or scripture
  • Play board and card games
  • Discuss current or historical events
  • Engage in conversation and leisure activities
  • Answer door and telephone, write letters, sort mail
  • Escort on walks or wheelchair strolls
  • Assist with setting up social functions
  • Help with calendars, birthday and anniversary reminders
  • Assist in arranging family photos
  • Accompany to dining room for meals

We offer the ability to:

  • Provide caregiving from 2 hours to 24 hours per day
  • Offer services ranging from a few days each month to seven days each week
  • Serve on weekends, holidays and overnight
  • Tailor care for on-call needs and short term schedules
  • Assist with the transition home after a hospital or rehab stay
  • Provide respite care and breaks for family members
  • Attend care conferences at no charge

There is no minimum number of service days required, and we work with you to fit Joyful Companions Home Care into your budget.

Joyful Companions Home Care is a proud member of the Struthers Parkinson’s Care Network (SPCN). The training and support our staff members receive help them to provide quality care for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Joyful Companion’s membership in the SPCN reflects our commitment to individuals and families living with Parkinson’s disease.
